Dag 1 : Flight Home country -  Reyckjavik. Transfert to the hotel in Reyckjavik.

Day 2 : Reyckjadalur - Domadalur ( 20 km).

Early departure from Reykjavik to Hellisheiði, the starting point of a classic single-track ride, Reykjadalur, located in one of Iceland’s most powerful and impressive geothermal regions. We will drop down into valleys where rivers run warm and the landscape is abounding with hot springs and bubbling mud. The day ends in the town of Hveragerði, famous for growing flowers and vegetables in geothermally heated greenhouses year-round. In the afternoon we drive along the south coast, through farmlands. Night in a remote cabin in the heart of the spectacular highland

Day 3 : Domadalur - Landmannalaugar (40 km).

Today’s ride begins on black sands before entering the amazing Dómadalur region with smooth grass-covered mountains on one side and colourful rhyolite mountains on the other. The ride of the day is by the foot of Hekla, Iceland’s most active volcano. We will ride past mountain lakes, up a few short 200m climbs with rewarding descents and up to Ljótipollur, an extinct volcanic crater. Finally we reach the stunning Landmannalaugar area with its colourful surroundings. Bring a towel – on this leg of the trip we will find a warm natural pool to soak in. Night in a remote cabin.

Day 4 : Hrafntinnusker - Alftavatn ( 30 km).

After an early breakfast we begin a two-day point-to-point ride on (and off) the famous Laugavegur-Þórsmörk trail. We begin the day by crossing a lava field, followed by a steep climb up to Hrafntinnusker, named after the obsidian rocks that are to be found there. The next section takes us past the Stórihver hot spring, which has snowfields nearby. This marks the most elevated point of our trip. Then it's onto Jökultungur and a technical descent before reaching the highland lake Álftavatn, where we spend the night in a mountain hut.

Day 5 : Alftavatn - Torfahlaup (35 km).

Now we take a detour from the Laugavegur track, along Lake Álftavatn and past Torfahlaup Canyon. We ride along the mountains with the occasional challenging single-tracks until we reach the great canyons of Markarfljót River and pedal under the cone-shaped mountain Stórasúla back to Álftavatn.  We spend the night in a mountain cabin.

Day 6 : Porsmörk (35 km).

We make our way on a remote and beautiful single-track of Laugavegur that leads to the Southern Fjallabak’s route via Hattfellsgil down to Þórsmörk. A mythical valley with birch trees and ravines surrounded by steep mountains and tumbling glaciers, Þórsmörk is the perfect setting for our grill dinner: Icelandic lamb with all the trimmings. The last 4 km take us over Krossá River on a footbridge and onto Goðaland and Básar. We spend the night in a mountain hut underneath the slopes of the infamous Eyjafjallajökull volcano

Day 7 : Fimmvörouhals - Eyjafjallajokull (25 km).

We begin the day by a steep 6 km climb (pedalling & hike-a-bike) to Fimmvörðuháls pass at 1000m. The view we will get during the climb is staggering: glaciers and Iceland’s freshest lava from the new volcanic craters Móði and Magni. In the afternoon we will be rewarded with a fabulous 12 km downhill, the first part on a gravel road and the second part on one of Iceland’s best single-track that follows the river Skógá with its many picturesque waterfalls. Our last ride of the trip leads us to the spectacular south coast. Transfer to Reykjavík in the afternoon.  Overnight in a hotel.

Day 8 : transfert to the airport and Flight Reyckjavik - Home country
